About
gira|sol dance lab is a collaboration between Isabaila y david aloka, dance instructors and performers in the capital region since 2017. gira|sol’s mission is to inspire and engage the local Latin dance community with opportunities to both study and perform Latin dance throughout the capital region. gira|sol was conceived as part of Isabaila y david's courses at The Arts Center of the Capital Region in Troy, NY.
The Arts Center of the Capital Region (ACCR), founded in 1962, serves the Capital Region as a leader in arts advocacy, education, investment and programming. The ACCR owns and operates 30,000 square feet of studios, galleries and performance spaces that draw 40,000 visitors a year and directly contribute to the economic well-being of Troy. The ACCR regrants funds from NY to artists and arts projects, offers 500 classes a year, operates a 2000 square foot gallery, serves the local artist community through a comprehensive training program, and produces public works that put art in the forefront of the civic experience.
